Currys matches Argos by dishing out £109 smart TV that rivals Sky

Anyone in need of a smart TV on a budget might want to check out a new deal from Currys. The UK retailer has launched a massive sale event, which is offering a swathe of screens at much lower prices. In fact, shoppers can currently grab a JVC model for just £109. That low price includes a device with a 24-inch screen, HDR10 technology for improved picture quality and it even comes with two months of access to Apple Fitness+ or Apple Music.

Another massive bonus is full Freely compatibility. This makes the TV similar to Sky Glass, with it able to access over 50 channels without the need for an aerial or dish stuck to the chimney. Owners can even pause live telly, see a full 7-day guide and get content recommendations, making it easier to find things to watch.

This is a decent deal but it's not the only cut-priced screen available. Not to be outdone, Argos is also offering a Freely TV for £109 as well.

This time, it's a model made by Toshiba that also includes a 24-inch HD screen with HDR10 technology.

Once again, it offers access to live and on-demand content via a broadband connection, which makes it super simple to set up. There are also no subscription fees to pay, as Freely is totally free to view.

Of course, the only downside of Freely is that it doesn't offer as many channels as Sky. So, those wanting access to more premium content will need to pay, but things have just got a little bit cheaper.

Ahead of the World Cup, Sky is offering 20 percent off Sky Glass Gen 2 and Sky Glass Air.

Both of these screens are powered by the internet, which means there is no need for a dish or tricky installation.

Sky Glass Air now starts from just £4.50 a month for the 43" model, whilst Sky Glass Gen 2 starts at £11 a month.

Owners can then add TV bundles to these screens, which start from an extra £15 but do include Netflix and Discovery+, along with 100+ channels, including Sky Atlantic.
