FARIDABAD: Dr Shaheen Saeed of Lucknow was taken to Faridabad by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for on-site questioning as part of its ongoing probe into the Delhi car bomb blast carried out by terror module group. She is one of the seven accused in the case, officials said on Friday.

On November 20, the NIA had arrested Dr Shaheen along with Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai of Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir), Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather of Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir), and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay of Shopian (Jammu and Kashmir).

The arrests were made in Srinagar under production orders from the district sessions judge of Patiala House court. All four are alleged to have played a key role in the November 10 terror attack near the Red Fort, which killed several people and injured many others, according to sources.

Dr Shaheen Shahid, a woman doctor from Lucknow, was part of the recently busted inter-state terror module. She has also been specifically named in connection with the Delhi car blast case.

Sayeed, originally from Lucknow, was married to Zafar Hayat from Maharashtra, but the couple divorced in 2015. After her separation, she reportedly lived alone while working at Al Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana. Authorities suspect that she may have been indoctrinated during this period.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Shahid is associated with the newly formed Jamaat-ul-Mominaat, an organisation reportedly launched by the banned Jaish-e-Mohammed last month.

She is alleged to be part of Jaish-e-Mohammed’s women recruitment wing in India and is believed to have been in contact with a handler in Pakistan, potentially tasked with recruiting more women for terror activities.

Her arrest is part of a larger operation spanning Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, which led to the seizure of 2,900 kg of explosives in Faridabad.
