Vehicle owners in Delhi with pending traffic challans now have a chance to settle their fines without the hassle of regular court visits. The National Lok Adalat will be held across Delhi on May 9, 2026, offering quick relief for thousands of motorists dealing with unpaid traffic penalties.

The special court session is expected to help people clear routine traffic challans with ease, and in many cases, fines may even be reduced. That’s why Lok Adalats continue to attract large numbers of people looking for faster and simpler settlements.

Lok Adalat to Be Held Across Delhi Courts

The National Lok Adalat will function in all major Delhi courts from 10 AM to 4 PM on May 9. These include:
  • Karkardooma Court
  • Saket Court
  • Patiala House Court
  • Rouse Avenue Court
  • Dwarka Court
  • Rohini Court
  • Tis Hazari Court
People can choose the court based on convenience or the jurisdiction where the challan was issued.


Registration Process Already Started

Those planning to settle their challans must complete online registration before May 7, 2026. The registration window opened on May 4.

Applicants need to visit the official Delhi Police website and book a slot online. Only 50,000 challans will be accepted per day, making early registration important. After booking, users must download and print their challan copy for submission.


Which Challans Can Be Settled?

The Lok Adalat will mainly deal with minor traffic violations and routine penalties. These include:
  • Riding without a helmet
  • Not wearing a seatbelt
  • Overspeeding
  • Traffic signal violations
People may receive concessions or reduced penalties for these offences.

Serious Offences Not Included

Certain major violations will not be considered in the Lok Adalat. These include:
  • Drunk driving cases
  • Hit-and-run offences
Such matters will continue through the normal legal process and cannot be settled here.

  • Printed copy of the challan
