Digestive sciences institute opened

Chennai: Kauvery Hospital, Vadapalani, has launched the Kauvery Institute of Digestive Sciences, a specialised initiative offering coordinated, evidence-based care for gastrointestinal and liver diseases, focused on prevention and lifestyle management.

Kauvery said this is in response to rising digestive-health concerns in India, where about 70% face symptoms such as acidity, bloating, constipation or indigestion, but less than half seek medical care.

Changing food habits, high intake of processed foods, irregular meals, stress, sedentary lifestyles and poor sleep contribute to the increase in bowel disorders.tnn
