Dr Giri is first woman prez of Maha IMA

Nagpur: Well-known paediatrician from Nagpur and former Nagpur IMA president Dr Manjusha Giri was elected as the first woman president of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Maharashtra.

Elections for this position are held every year and the results were announced late Sunday.

Former Nagpur IMA president Dr Prashant Nikhade and former Dr Giri entered fray had filed candidature for top post. A total of 12,408 votes were cast of which Dr Giri got 6,783 votes while Dr Nikhade polled 5,553. Other votes were declared invalid.
