From September 22, 2025, popular brands like Amul and Mother Dairy will reduce rates as packaged milk is exempted from the 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST). Government Removes GST on Packaged Milk


The decision, taken at the latest GST Council meeting, is aimed at easing the financial burden on consumers amidst rising inflation. How Much Will Milk Prices Drop?

  • Amul Gold (Full Cream): Rs 69 → Rs 65-66
  • Amul Fresh (Toned Milk): Rs 57 → Rs 54-55
  • Amul Tea Special: Rs 63 → Rs 59-60
  • Buffalo Milk: Rs 75 → Rs 71-72
  • Cow Milk: Rs 58 → Rs 55-57

Mother Dairy Milk Prices :


  • Full Cream: Rs 69 → Rs 65-66
  • Toned Milk: Rs 57 → Rs 55-56
  • Buffalo Milk: Rs 74 → Rs 71
  • Cow Milk: Rs 59 → Rs 56-57

Effective Date for New GST-Free Rates


The new GST-exempted prices will come into effect on September 22, 2025. After this date, all packaged milk products from Amul and Mother Dairy will be available at these reduced rates, offering immediate savings to consumers.
