Dy CM: Govt to take strict land reform measures

Newspoint
Patna: The state govt would take more stringent measures for land reforms , said deputy CM and revenue and land reforms minister Vijay Kumar Sinha while releasing the department’s compendium of achievements on Wednesday.

The minister warned the officials that monitoring would no longer be limited to the district level, but would extend to the block level as well. “No one should be under the illusion that the work is finished just because a district visit has been completed. The govt is capable of taking action against those who do not improve. If homeopathy does not work, allopathic treatment would be started to set things right in the department,” Sinha said.

Sinha said land-related matters, including land record corrections and mutation cases, have been resolved at a record-breaking speed since he took charge. “We are gradually implementing reforms. Cases will be resolved through a phased approach. If necessary, more stringent measures will also be taken and implemented,” he said.

He released a compilation of departmental circulars, which includes all rules and guidelines from 2003 to 2023, compiled in four parts. This will greatly facilitate the work of departmental officials and make the rules simpler and more accessible.

“Overall, the number of pending cases has decreased by more than 4,000 and the department’s complete progress report will be made public after Makar Sankranti,” he said.

The deputy CM said the department is carrying out important work to link PM Kisan data with Aadhaar, tag the land of the farmers, and create farmer IDs. “To ensure its effective implementation, a team of officers from the headquarters has been deputed to the district level to supervise the work. This is a very important campaign for the farmers of the state,” he said.

Principal secretary of the department C K Anil, secretary Gopal Meena, special secretary Arun Kumar Singh, secretary and consolidation director Rakesh Kumar, land acquisition director Kamlesh Kumar Sing among other officers were present on the occasion.
