East Singhbhum police bust burglars gang, recover ornaments worth Rs 16 lakh
Jamshedpur: Police personnel in East Singhbhum arrested four men involved in burglaries and recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 16 lakh from them.
SP (rural) Rishab Garg said the men had allegedly broke into a home in Pokhari under MGM police station limits on November 29 this year. Mahesh Gaud, the homeowner, was attending a marriage function with his family at the time of the incident. The burglars stole gold ornaments, two mobile phones and personal care items, Garg said.
Garg said that Sundar Kujur (19) and Rohit Gope (20), residents of Ulidih police station limits in Mango, are the prime accused. They lifted the items and handed them to Manish Rai (25), a resident of the rural Boram thana area, to sell. “Manish sold a gold chain to Vicky Singh (35), a resident of Ulidih, for Rs 10,000,” the SP said.
A special investigation team by DSP (Patamda range) Bachan Deo Kujur, cracked the case based on intelligence, technical, and CCTV footage evidence. The accused were apprehended on Saturday and were sent to jail on the same day.
