Edinburgh bus fire LIVE: Flames erupt in city centre as locals flee in panic

A bus has burst into flames in Edinburgh city centre, with emergency services scrambled to the scene. Shocking images show the bus on fire on the South Clerk Street near a Sainsbury's supermarket.

Plumes of smoke and a large black cloud are seen rising from the bus, while nearby vehicles avoid the chaotic scene. An eyewitness told Edinburgh Live: "I saw some people who had stopped at the stop sign. I went to see what they were looking at and was like 'holy ****. I thought, 'maybe I should get out of here really fast.' When I walked down the street a bit farther, and I turned around, the whole bus was now enveloped in flames." The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is currently in attendance. It is unknown whether there are any casualties.
