Escape to the Country's Nick Chapman devastates fans with show future confession

Escape to the Country presenter Nicki Chapman had a blow to deliver for some fans of the BBC property show. In a new video posted to Instagram, she explained that she is busy filming a brand new series of the programme in Cheshire, but when one fan asked a probing question, the good news seemingly stopped.

In her video, Nicki told viewers: "Good morning. Back filming a brand new series of Escape to the Country. We are in Cheshire. It's a rather lovely day - a little bit windy, as you can see from the hair. But yeah, great to be back with the team, great to be back with a brand new set of contributors, we're gonna see lots of amazing houses and - guaranteed - beautiful, beautiful countryside."

She added in her caption: "We are back! So excited. Filming a brand new series of Escape to the Country, starting this week in glorious Cheshire.

The 5 bar gate lean has returned.

"Need our help? Go on... Why not apply online to bbc.co.uk/takepart and we could be helping you fulfil that dream of a new life in the countryside or by the coast?

"We would love to help you discover the most beautiful parts of the UK, show you gorgeous villages & market towns, walks & bridle paths to explore, secluded coves & sandy beaches... the list is endless & we know where they are (well most of them!) plus some stunning homes too.

"We'd love to hear from you... & who knows, you could be joining me leaning on that 5 bar gate very soon!"

But when one fan wondered if the Australian edition of the show would ever return, Nicki sadly said nothing has been confirmed.

One of her followers said: "I cannot wait to watch this episode but just wondering, is Wanted Down Under ever coming back? Because it says in the Wikipedia it's coming back?? Have a good week!"

Nicki confessed: "I hope it does but sadly nothing to report."

The star was also asked if Escape to the Country will be heading to Cornwall this series, as she explained: "One of us will be soon no doubt! Our contributors decide where we go."
