Expect rain, thunderstorms over next two days: Met

Bhopal: While a bright and breezy Wednesday brought a pleasant respite from the summer heat in the city, the forecast for Thursday holds more promise.

According to the regional meteorological office, the city would wake up to partly cloudy skies on Thursday, with a possibility of rain accompanied by a thunderstorm and lightning.

The Met also forecast similar wet weather across several parts of the state over the next couple of days.

The city was greeted by partly overcast skies combined with a stiff wind on Wednesday, with the day temperature remaining sharply below normal.

The day temperature in Bhopal on Wednesday was recorded at 33.2 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees below normal, while the night temperature was at 22 degrees Celsius, a degree more than the normal mark.

Similar readings are expected on Thursday as well, with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be around 33 and 22 degrees, combined with an average wind speed of 22 kmph.

The Met warned of thunderstorms or hailstorms, accompanied by gusty winds, on Thursday for several places on Thursday, including Datia, Bhind, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Panna and Satna districts. Similar weather events were also forecast for Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Ashok Nagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Morena, Sheopur, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Jabalpur, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Panna, Damoh, Sagar and Maihar districts.
