Four arrested in Begusarai murder case
Begusarai : Police on Saturday arrested four of the five named accused in the murder of 27-year-old Mintu Kumar at Rachiyahi village under the Singhaul police station area. Mintu was shot dead by criminals on Wednesday evening when he had gone out to buy vegetables. His brother, Pintu Kumar, later lodged an FIR at Singhaul police station, naming five persons in connection with the murder.

Begusarai Sadar-1 SDPO Anand Kumar Pandey said a special police team arrested Manish Kumar, Pramod Rai, Kanchan Devi and Gudiya Kumari from the town police station area in Katihar. “All four are accused in the case and belong to Rachiyahi village. During interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in the crime,” the SDPO said.
On the basis of information provided by the arrested accused, police subsequently nabbed Munna Paswan from Kailashpur village under Singhaul police station limits and recovered the pistol used in the crime along with two live cartridges.
Meanwhile, the fifth named accused, Chhotu Kumar , surrendered before a local court amid mounting pressure from the police, the SDPO said, adding that further investigation is underway.
