Aloo Tikki Seller Uses Feet to Clean Potatoes in Ghaziabad, Video Goes Viral

Street food may be irresistible, but hygiene concerns continue to cast a shadow over its popularity. A recent viral video has once again sparked outrage, showing a shocking lapse in food safety practices.

The clip, reportedly shot in Loni, shows a street vendor washing potatoes with his feet while still wearing slippers. Shared by Ghar Ke Kalesh on X (formerly Twitter), the footage is said to be from a well-known aloo tikki stall in DLF Ankur Vihar, making the incident even more unsettling for regular customers.

The woman who recorded the video expressed her disappointment, revealing that her own family had eaten from the same stall. She described the act as shameful and highlighted the complete disregard for basic hygiene.

As the video spread online, social media users reacted strongly. Many expressed disgust, while others used sarcasm to call out the situation. Comments ranged from criticism of hygiene standards to broader concerns about trusting street food vendors altogether.

Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated case. Earlier this month in Thane, another disturbing video surfaced. It allegedly showed a street vendor relieving himself roadside before returning to handle and sell food, without washing his hands.

Incidents like these are raising serious questions about food safety and cleanliness in public spaces. While street food remains an essential part of India’s culinary culture, such lapses highlight the urgent need for stricter hygiene practices and greater awareness among both vendors and consumers.
