Bhopal News: Income Tax Officials Raid Science House Group Linked To Earlier Frauds

In a significant operation, the Income Tax Department carried out raids in Bhopal early Tuesday morning. The searches targeted multiple premises linked to Science House Group and prominent medical equipment traders. Security forces, including CRPF personnel, were deployed to maintain order during the raids.

Early Morning Raids Commence

The operation was initiated with teams from the Income Tax Department arriving in a convoy of vehicles. They swiftly moved to the main office of the Science House Group in Gautam Nagar. Simultaneously, another team reached the residence of medical and surgical equipment trader Rajesh Gupta in the Panchwati Park area of Lalghati. The unexpected nature of the raids was noted by locals who were surprised by the sight of numerous vehicles and security personnel so early in the morning.

Raids Across Bhopal and Other Cities

According to reports, the Income Tax Department conducted raids not only in Bhopal but also across Indore, Mumbai and other locations. In Bhopal, the first team reached Science House Group’s headquarters in Gautam Nagar and began examining financial documents.
Another team simultaneously raided the residence of Rajesh Gupta, a well-known trader in medical surgical equipment, located in the Panchvati Park area of Lalghati. Gupta, who is also involved in a large linen supply business catering to government departments, is under the scanner for alleged financial irregularities.

Prominent Names Under Investigation

Sources revealed that during the raids, officials questioned several individuals connected with Science House Group. These included:

• Jitendra Tiwari (Director, Science House Group)
• Rohit Gupta (Software Engineer)
• Dinesh Barolia (Consultant)
• Shikha Rajoria (Associate)

The group’s directors have previously been linked to a former IAS officer, raising further speculation about political and bureaucratic connections.

Security Measures During the Raid

To prevent any untoward incident, CRPF personnel were deployed at various raid sites. Locals reported a heavy police presence outside Science House’s Gautam Nagar office and Rajesh Gupta’s Lalghati residence, where searches continued for several hours.

Current Status of the Raids

As of now, the Income Tax Department has not disclosed the exact grounds for Tuesday’s operation. Officials are believed to be scrutinising financial records and supply contracts linked to the medical and diagnostic services business.
