KDK College hosts induction programme 'Kshitij' for 42nd batch
Nagpur: KDK College of Engineering (KDKCE), an autonomous institution, successfully hosted its annual induction programme ‘Kshitij: The Horizon of New Possibilities' for the 42nd batch of newly admitted students. The event, organized in association with The Times of India, aimed to inspire and guide students as they embark on their engineering journey.
Commissioner of police Ravinder Singal graced the occasion as the chief guest. Also present were Drishti Mulak, principal Dr Valsson Varghese, and Dr Avinash Badar.
Welcoming the students, Dr Varghese highlighted the college's 41-year journey since its establishment in 1984. He urged the newcomers to actively engage in academics as well as co-curricular activities to ensure a holistic educational experience.
In his address, Singal shared insights from his personal and professional journey — from starting in an engineering firm to eventually joining the police force, inspired by his father's legacy of service. Congratulating the students on joining one of the region's premier institutes, he advised them to pursue academic excellence with perseverance and discipline. He also emphasised the importance of staying away from drugs and anti-social activities.
As part of the programme, a drug awareness rally was organised to sensitise students about the menace of substance abuse and its impact on youth.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr GH Agrawal, HoD, basic science and humanities, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries and extended greetings to the students on the occasion of Engineers' Day 2025. The proceedings were compered by Prof Vinus Bowar.
