Frogmore Cottage in Berkshire is reported to be the site of an alleged "torture" according to an anonymous claim made in the Epstein files released by US the Department of Justice. In the FBI document, an individual claimed a woman was restrained on a table and "tortured with electrical shocks" by Ghislaine Maxwell, while Mr Mountbatten-Windsor and other men allegedly watched on.

Dated December 7, 2020, the document claims the alleged victim was taken to Frogmore Cottage, which was recognised when it was in the news following a refurbishment in 2018. The file states: "There, I was restrained on a table and tortured with electrical shocks by Ghislaine Maxwell and surrounded by watching men. I remember seeing Prince Andrew's face" as reported in the Mirror.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to the late Jeffrey Epstein.

Surrey Police are urging people to come forward with any information about claims of non-recent human trafficking and sexual assaults following separate allegations relevant to that county. The force have confirmed that this appeal is nothing to do with the allegations of electric shock torture that surfaced in the Epstein Files.

The force said that it became aware of a redacted report alleging non-recent human trafficking and sexual assaults on a minor in Virginia Water village between 1994 and 1996.

Surrey Police said they have found no evidence of the allegations being reported to them after reviewing their systems.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said: "After reviewing our systems using the limited information available to us, we found no evidence of these allegations being reported to Surrey Police."

The police force continued: "We therefore encourage anyone with information in relation to these allegations to report this to us online, or via 101. We take all reports of child and sexual abuse seriously and therefore, as with any other matter, should new and relevant information be brought to our attention, including any information resulting from the release of materials in the US, we will assess it.

"Where relevant, and via the national coordination group, we will engage with law enforcement agencies to obtain access to further information which may support our enquiries. It is important that any information is reviewed objectively and without speculation."

The cottage has served as a royal refuge since it was built in 1801. It was commissioned by Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III, who bought the Frogmore estate as a country retreat for herself and her unmarried daughters in 1792.

It's close to the River Thames and built upon historically wet marsh ground, which led to the estate's name and the low-lying plot attracts a high number of frogs from the nearby riverbank.

Harry and Meghan carried out renovations on the cottage using £2.4 million of taxpayer's money. This was paid back in full by the couple. making a contribution to the Sovereign Grant.

When Frogmore Cottage was built, it originally had 10 bedrooms, but after Harry and Meghan's renovation it became a five-bedroom property.

In March 2023, a spokesperson confirmed that Harry and Meghan had been told to officially vacate the property after Harry's book 'Spare' was released in 2023, with a spokesperson stating: "We can confirm that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have vacated Frogmore Cottage."
