Major blow for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as they lose three more staff members
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly lost three more members of staff at their Archewell company, it has been revealed. The couple announced a name change for their former Archewell Foundation earlier this week, with the company now rebranded as Archewell Philanthropies.
The members of staff who have been "let go" are said to include Kristen Slevin, who acted as the director of programs and operations. The other two members of staff remain unknown at the time of writing. The Sussexes office denied last week that there will be changes made to their staff, althought it has now been reported that the members of staff were "let go" because "the charity was closing".
A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has said: "Currently, the same full team remain in place.
"This move does mean that some staff redundancies are inevitable, particularly with junior admin roles."
The spokesperson also admitted that no further comment will be made, stating: "We will not be discussing these personnel details further, other than to say that we are honoured to have worked with incredibly talented and caring people who dedicate themselves to helping others."
According to the Daily Mail, Meghan and Harry are directors of the charity and do not take home a salary.
As well as the axing of the staff members, Archwell also recorded total expenses of £3.8million [$5.1m], while taking in donations of £1.56million [$2.1m].
The figures were shown on the 990 form which was made public on Friday, shortly after the company's name change was revealed.
The document also showed that revenue to the Archewell Foundation from contributions and grants plummeted in 2024. It stands at £1.56million [$2.1m], down from £3.9million [$5.3m] the previous year. Salaries are listed at £686,000 [$913,000].
