Major UK supermarket to change opening times in April
A major UK supermarket will reduce its opening hours for all customers in April. Aldi, which has over 1,000 stores across the UK, has confirmed when it will open during the upcoming Easter weekend and revealed the quietest times for shoppers.
Bosses have announced that all Aldi stores will be shut on Easter Sunday (April 5) to give staff a break. Meanwhile, all supermarkets will be open between 8am and 9pm on Good Friday and Saturday, April 4. The UK's fourth-largest supermarket will then be open between 8am and 8pm on Easter Monday.
As reported by Glasgow Live, Rachel Geary, communications director at Aldi UK, said: "Easter is a time for celebration and coming together with family and friends to enjoy great food - whether that's a traditional British roast with all the trimmings or firing up the BBQ, if the spring weather allows.
"At Aldi, we've made it easy for shoppers to pick up everything they need for the occasion at unbeatable value, so they can focus on what really matters - spending quality time with loved ones."
Shoppers are being advised to check online for information on their local store as opening hours may vary. According to Aldi bosses, the quietest time to shop over the Easter weekend will be between 8am and 9am.
The second quietest period will be between 7pm and 10pm, with customers also benefitting from discounts at this time. Some products are reduced by up to 75% near the end of the day.

Under the Sunday Trading Act 1994, all shops over 280 square metres in size are legally obliged to close on Easter Sunday. However, smaller stores, as well as airport and railway station outlets, service stations and registered pharmacies can remain open.
It was previously reported that 356 Waitrose stores will shut on Easter Sunday while 560 Home Bargains branches will also shut. Waitrose confirmed that stores will be open on Good Friday with reduced hours from 9am until 7pm.
Meanwhile, a Home Bargains spokesperson confirmed that all 70 stores in Scotland will remain open as usual on Easter Sunday while the rest of the shops across the UK will shut. As there are 630 shops nationwide, this means 560 branches will be closed on the day.
