Man arrested for posting bomb threat message targeting Ullal mosque

Mangaluru: Police have arrested a man for allegedly posting a provocative message on Instagram threatening to carry out a bomb blast near a mosque in Ullal.

The message was posted from an Instagram account named “shankar11916”, stating: “Support me bro, I will blast a bomb near Ullal Masjid.” The post went viral on social media, following which a case was registered at Ullal police station on Monday (March 2).

On Tuesday (March 3), police arrested Shankar Mastappa Moger (35), a resident of Bhatkal, in connection with the case. The mobile phone allegedly used to upload the post has been seized.

Further investigation is under way.
