Man held for Rs 65L cyber fraud in Tonk

Bhilwara: A joint team of the district special team (DST) and Sadar police arrested a man on Friday for allegedly duping people of Rs 65 lakh through online cyber fraud in Tonk district. Tonk SP Rajesh Kumar Meena said the accused, Vijay Yadav of Bichpuri village, was caught during an ongoing cybercrime crackdown.

Police said several complaints had been filed against him for creating fake trade and WhatsApp links to lure people with promises of high returns.

A Hyundai car, multiple passbooks, ATM and debit cards, and mobile phones were seized.

Yadav is being interrogated, and officials said his arrest may help crack other cyber fraud cases reported in Tonk and in states like Delhi and Gujarat.
