Nitish flags off mobile forensic vehicles for faster crime probe
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Thursday flagged off 34 mobile forensic vehicles that will help initiate investigations immediately after reaching crime scenes. Nitish said the movable forensic labs are equipped with modern investigation tools and will help solve crimes in a timely manner.
He said since 2005, a legal framework has been established with the highest priority given to systematic arrangements, and several initiatives have been taken to improve the law and order situation in the state.

“A zero-tolerance policy towards crime and corruption was adopted. For expediting the investigation of criminal cases, 34 new mobile forensic vehicles were deployed. These vehicles are equipped with modern investigation tools. With their help, evidence can be promptly collected at crime scenes, initiating immediate investigation,” the statement issued by the chief minister’s office said. It added, “Previously, after a crime, forensic labs had to be approached for evidence collection, which was time-consuming and caused distress to affected families.
