Nitish visits Rajdhani reservoir, takes stock of biodiversity
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Wednesday took a tour of Rajdhani reservoir located in the main secretariat complex and observed migratory birds .
During the tour, officials from the environment, forest and climate change department (EFCCD) provided detailed information to the CM about the flora and birds found in the Rajdhani reservoir area. “Migratory birds like Lalsar, Coot, Pintail, Gadwall, Comb Duck, and terrestrial birds like Treepie, Cuckoo, Hornbill, Roller, etc., come to Rajdhani reservoir every year during the winter. Among migratory species, Lesser Whistling Duck, Ferruginous Duck, Cormorant, Moorhen, Gadwall, etc., are prominent,” the officials told the CM.

“For maximum congregation of birds here, along with other facilities, fish, insects, aquatic plants, wet grass, and other things are available as food. This natural site exists amidst the dense population of the city. The EFCCD is managing the Rajdhani reservoir,” a communique issued from the chief minister’s office (CMO) said.
Subsequently, the CM also visited the Rajdhani Vatika and took information about the facilities being provided there. People present in the Rajdhani Vatika complex greeted the CM.
During the CM’s tour, water resources department minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary; JD(U) MLC Lalan Sarraf; CM’s secretaries Kumar Ravi and Chandrashekhar Singh; CM’s special duty officer Gopal Singh, along with other officials, were present.
