Smooth transit process at Mumbai airport

After completing an approximately 11-hour flight operated by IndiGo, she landed in Mumbai for a scheduled 10-hour layover. Since she remained inside the international transit area, she did not have to undergo immigration procedures, a provision allowed for certain international passengers who meet transit requirements.

According to her video, airport formalities were efficient and straightforward. Security screening and transit procedures were completed without complications, making the experience feel routine rather than stressful.

Exploring the airport during a long layover

With several hours to spare, the traveller documented moments of her time inside the airport, strolling through terminals, relaxing between flights, and eventually settling into a lounge area to rest and eat.

She described the atmosphere as calm and comfortable, especially after an exhausting journey. Modern transit facilities, late-night food options, and lounge access helped turn what could have been a tiring wait into a manageable break between flights.

Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport is widely regarded as one of South Asia’s busiest aviation hubs, known for its transit connectivity and passenger amenities, which often cater to long-haul travellers passing through India.

A minor scare that ended smoothly

One unexpected moment occurred when she received a WhatsApp call from airport staff regarding a “suspicious item” detected in her luggage. The situation turned out to be minor, a power bank had been packed in checked baggage, which aviation safety rules prohibit.

She was asked to remove the item, and she later praised airport personnel for handling the issue professionally and politely.

Research and preparation made the difference

In her post caption, she explained that she had contacted the airline beforehand to confirm transit rules for Pakistani nationals. She highlighted that travellers can transit through Indian airports if they remain within airport premises and comply with specific time and documentation conditions.

Her preparation, she noted, helped ease anxiety and ensured a hassle-free journey.

Several commenters expressed hope that she would someday return to explore India beyond the airport, while others said stories like hers demonstrate how everyday travel interactions can foster cultural curiosity and mutual understanding.
