RJD to plan fresh strategy as BJP set to take lead
Patna: Now that the BJP is likely to take the driver’s seat in Bihar, the RJD is all set to chalk out a new strategy to strongly counter the new NDA govt in the state. RJD leaders said after the Rajya Sabha election gets over, they will sit and prepare a fresh plan.
RJD was not much aggressive towards CM Nitish Kumar in recent years, as it got invitations to form govt with JD(U) support twice in the past. Even RJD national working president Tejashwi Prasad Yadav made it clear on Thursday, the day Nitish Kumar filed his Rajya Sabha nomination, that he was not attacking CM during the election.
But now things have changed in political circles, and the opposition RJD will be doing fresh homework to mount an attack. Party’s chief spokesperson and former MLA Shakti Singh Yadav said they will hold a meeting and prepare their strategy after the Rajya Sabha election.
“We fought against the ideologies of BJP. Our party worked for the interest of the common man and for communal harmony. We will continue to work in that direction, but yes, the plan and strategy will change as the BJP will be in the lead role now,” said Yadav.
Another RJD spokesperson, Chitranjan Gagan, also spoke on the same lines. Gagan said at present they were focusing on the Rajya Sabha election, but soon after that they will be brainstorming about the fresh strategy of the party.
“Definitely, our strategy will change. Now it is BJP which will be in focus and JD(U) is nowhere in the scene,” said Gagan, further criticising the BJP for the fresh political unfolding in Bihar. “They did the same with the JD(U) which they were doing with their alliance partners in other states. Now, the political scenario in Bihar has changed and we will work accordingly,” he added.
