Rupert Lowe hails 'very important day' for Restore Britain he unveils Reform UK defections

Rupert Lowe announced on Tuesday evening that seven Reform UK defectors had joined his new party, Restore Britain. The new Restore Britain members were councillors at Kent County Council, and all former members of Nigel Farage's party.

Announcing the defections, Mr Lowe - who announced he had turned his "political movement" into a party on Friday evening - wrote on X: "I am delighted to announce that seven Kent County Councillors have today joined Restore Britain, and they will form an official Restore Britain group on the council.

This is a very important day for our party. There will be many more to come."

The message included a picture showing all the former Reform UK councillors who are now members of his party.
