Samsung fans have been racing to get a cheaper Galaxy phone that's fallen to less than £100. The deal is running for a limited time at Amazon, where there's almost a third off the Samsung Galaxy A16.

Usually £139, this budget-friendly model is now up for grabs at £99, a total saving of £40 or 29%. However, bargain hunters are urged to act quickly as Amazon has flagged the deal as 'selling fast' ahead of its May 23 end date.

The deal undercuts Samsung's own price drop, where the A16 is now £119 (was £139). The Galaxy A16 is a 2024 model from Samsung's A series, designed as an entry to mid-level range of smartphones offering a cheaper alternative to the premium S models.

Despite its cheaper price, it still features a vivid 6.7" Super AMOLED display, Exynos 3110 and triple-lens camera including a 50MP main camera. It also boasts fast-charging and an all-day battery life, while Samsung promises the phone will stay up to date with six years of updates.

It also boasts an IP54 water-resistance rating and fingerprint scanner, but a downside is that it only offers 4G connectivity rather than more speedy 5G. Amazon customers taking advantage of the £99 deal can pick up the Galaxy A16 in a choice of Blue Black or Light Green colourways.

As an entry-level to mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A16 won't stand up to more premium models like the new Galaxy S26, but what it does do is provide advanced Android features and build quality at a more affordable price. For those who prefer the latest and greatest gadgets, Sky Mobile is currently offering a free Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Buds4 Pro.

These gadgets are worth a combined £538 and are available with all three models of the Galaxy S26 range. As for the Samsung Galaxy A16, Amazon customers have awarded this model a 4.6-star rating after more than 700 reviews.

One says: "Really good value for money. The A16 is a good phone which will allow you to use the internet [and] messenger but will be slow if downloading any games etc. It has good battery life in between charges. The camera shows good quality pictures and videos [and] it looks good."

Another says: "Quality strong phone. For around £100, I don't think you can find better quality. Quality camera, battery life, everything. It's perfect for daily use."

This buyer left a four-star review praising the Galaxy A16 as a 'nice and easy phone to set up', but noted one flaw. They said: "Only criticism is the fact that there was no charger, only a data cable."

Meanwhile, another five-star review says: "Absolutely love this phone. I wanted a good fingerprint reader because my last phone had one - didn't expect I could for such a cheap phone but it has and it's great. The camera is awesome and it stays charged for days. Great phone and doesn't look cheap."
