Shocking Murder: 8-Year-Old Found Dead in Box With Pillow and Chip Packets, Eye Gouged Out Brutally

Residents of Bareilly woke up to a disturbing discovery on December 2 after an 8-year-old boy’s body was found stuffed inside a red box under the Nakatia river bridge near the Delhi–Lucknow Highway. The box was first noticed by a passerby who grew suspicious and opened it only to uncover a horrifying scene.

Shocking Discovery Under the Bridge

Inside the box lay the body of a boy, believed to be around 8–10 years old. A blanket covered him, and a small pillow had been placed carefully under his head, suggesting he was deliberately positioned before being abandoned. Snack packets, biscuits, chips, and other food items found inside point to the chilling possibility that the child may have been lured with treats.

Signs of Brutality Emerge

Police later confirmed that the boy’s left eye had been gouged out, raising fears of a brutal assault. Minor scratches were also spotted on his neck. Early clues indicate that the child was murdered elsewhere and his body dumped beneath the bridge to avoid detection.

Investigation in Full Swing

Minutes after locals raised the alarm, the Izzatnagar police, a forensic team, and senior officials including SP City arrived at the location. The box, blanket, and surrounding area were thoroughly examined as forensic experts collected crucial samples.
Additional SP Manush Pareek stated that signs clearly point to murder, though the exact cause of death will be established after the postmortem report.

Four Teams Assigned, Occult Angle Not Ruled Out

Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya has formed four dedicated teams to crack the case. Investigators are exploring all possibilities kidnapping, targeted killing, and even occult-related activity, as certain items in the box raised suspicion. However, officers emphasized that this angle is only a line of inquiry for now.

CCTV, Missing Reports Under Review

CCTV footage from nearby areas is being scanned, and missing-child reports from Bareilly and neighbouring districts are being cross-checked to identify the victim. Police say the next 24–48 hours will be crucial in piecing together how the boy was abducted, killed, and eventually left under the bridge.
