Smart scales that help with fitness tracking are 'sturdy and good value'
For many up and down the country, the New Year marks the start of healthier habits and better choices, and several shoppers have been picking up one clever gadget in a bid to keep their resolutions beyond the first few weeks of January.
These Renpho smart Bluetooth weighing scales are currently 25% off at Amazon, with their price reduced from the usual £23.99 to £17.99. The device can record and track 13 essential body measurements like weight, BMI, muscle mass, and body fat percentage, and then sync the results to the accompanying Renpho Health app.
Within the app, users can set specific weight and body fat goals and track their readings over time, helping them stay motivated. Data can also be shared to other apps like Samsung Health, Apple Health, and Fitbit.
The scales themselves sport a sleek, minimal design with a black glass front and large number display. According to Renpho, they can support up to 180kg.
Over at Argos, shoppers can pick up a Eufy smart electronic scale that's currently a third off, costing £30.62 down from £45.99. Ideal for the bathroom, it's waterproof to IPX5 - which means it's resistant to splashes and water from any direction - and has an anti-slip finish.
Meanwhile, Currys has £7 off these Homedics Glo Body Analyser smart scales, which are now £27.99. As well as tracking 13 different biometrics, they double up as a night light that activates from two feet away.
As for the Renpho smart scales, shoppers have left their feedback on Amazon, where the product is rated 4.5/5 from nearly 380,000 reviews. One shopper said: "Accurate readings and easy to sync with the app via Bluetooth, and tracks multiple metrics beyond just weight.
"The digital display is clear and the glass platform is sturdy. Good value for monitoring body composition."
A second chimed in with their thoughts: "These smart weighing scales have been such a helpful tool for keeping track of my health. The readings are quick and accurate, and I love how seamlessly they connect to the app.
"Seeing my progress laid out in charts and trends makes it easy to stay motivated and understand how my weight changes over time." A third simply added: "Bought it two years ago, it's nice and looks nice, easy to use, works well, and is reliable."
One left feedback as part of a four-star review, saying: "These scales give a lot of information, especially for the price. However, I'm not sure how accurate the body measurements are.
"They are +2lbs out compared to my professional scales, so not the end of the world but not true accuracy either. They are consistent with their readings, though."
Another added: "For the low cost, this is amazingly good. The Bluetooth and app-based reading doesn't stay on my phone so it's a minor faff to reconnect every time, but the app is very good at tracking over the weeks and months."
