Soren couple holds bypoll rally jointly, says INDIA bloc govt synonymous with prosperity
Jamshedpur: Ahead of the silence period for the Nov 11 Ghatshila bypoll from Sunday, both CM Hemant Soren and his MLA wife Kalpana on Saturday held a rally jointly for the first time at the Musaboni block to canvas for JMM candidate Somesh Chandra Soren.
The Soren couple sought votes on the development plank.
Addressing the public rally, Hemant said his govt is synonymous with development, jobs and prosperity. “Currently, our govt waives off the old electricity bills, provides 200 units of free electricity every month, and it is the same govt which is providing Rs 2,500 to women to enhance their financial security,” he said.

The CM also said several groundbreaking initiatives have been taken by the incumbent govt in different sectors and aimed at overall development and prosperity of the people, particularly the poor, underprivileged and disadvantaged sections. “Ours is an alliance govt which takes care of all sections of the community and prepares development plans accordingly,” Hemant said.
Urging the electorates to make sure that the forces which are opposed to the welfare and progress of the Adivasis, Dalits, farmers and workers, do not come to power at any cost, Hemant said people should come out in large numbers to support the JMM and Mahagathbandhan candidate on the election day.
The CM further said Jharkhand attained its statehood after a long struggle with several unsung heroes making the supreme sacrifice but soon after the state was formed, the reins of power went into the hands of the forces that “ruined” the state.
Stating that BJP never tolerates criticism, Soren said in the same vein that people who opposed the saffron party’s ideology and policy were put behind bars. “I was framed in a false case and sent to jail only because I opposed BJP,” Hemant said.
The CM called on the people to stop BJP from coming to power ever to ensure inclusive development and prosperity of the state. Hemant said the win of the party candidate would usher in the next stage of development in Ghatsila.
“Year 2025 has been a sad one for us as we lost our two great leaders, Guruji Shibu Soren and Ramdas Soren. Help Somesh win the election and resume the development work initiated by his father (Ramdas),” Hemant said.
Speaking at the rally, Kalpana said Hemant Soren chose to go to jail but did not compromise with the oppressive forces. She appealed to the electorate to exercise their franchise in favour of the party candidate and pay tributes to Guruji and Ramdas Soren. “Vote for development and support our govt,” she said.
