Speeding truck mows down 67-yr-old rider in Nishatpura

Bhopal: A 67-year-old man riding a scooter died after he was allegedly hit from behind by a speeding truck in the Nishatpura area on Wednesday. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed during treatment, and police have registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem while efforts are on to trace the absconding truck driver.

Police said the deceased, Mahesh (67), a resident of Nagar Nigam Colony in Ashoka Garden, had gone to BMHRC for treatment and was returning home when the accident occurred.

Near a private hospital, a fast-moving truck crashed into his scooter from behind, causing severe injuries; passersby took him to hospital, where doctors declared him dead, and further investigation is underway.
