Unaccounted stock found at gas agency in Godhra

Vadodara: District supply officials raided a gas agency in Godhra on Tuesday evening and found stock mismatches, including unaccounted commercial cylinders.

Officials carried out the surprise check at Ghanshyam Gas Agency amid concerns that irregularities were taking place due to a curtailment in the supply of commercial cylinders.

During the inspection, officers obtained the stock register and other documents and counted the cylinders on site. They found that the agency had 17 extra 19kg commercial cylinders not listed in the records. The cylinders, worth Rs 33,785, were seized.

The district administration has warned all gas agencies in Panchmahal to avoid any irregularities. Officials said such surprise checks will continue to curb black marketing.
