Viral Video: Gurugram Man Beaten for Feeding Chicken Momos to Cow
A 28-year-old man from Gurugram , Ritik, was publicly beaten, paraded, and later arrested after a video of him allegedly feeding a chicken momo to a cow during a livestream went viral, triggering outrage among Bajrang Dal members and local cow-protection groups.
The incident occurred on Sunday while Ritik was streaming live on the Prism app. In the video, he accepts a challenge to finish a full plate of momos and confirms with the vendor that they contain chicken. Unable to complete the challenge, he offers the leftover momos to a cow standing nearby.
The video, originally shared by Chaman Khatana who claims affiliation with the Bajrang Dal quickly went viral, drawing the attention of local cow-protection activists. On Monday, Khatana and a group of associates visited Ritik’s home, filming their confrontation with his father and demanding an apology. The group then brought Ritik outside, paraded him through the streets, and questioned him on camera about the incident and how he earns money from livestreams.
Following the viral backlash, Ritik was arrested on charges of insulting religious sentiments. He was later released on bail, but the incident has sparked debates online about social media challenges, religious sensitivities, and vigilante justice in India.
