Viral Video: Mount Everest Spotted From Madhubani, Bihar
A stunning view of Mount Everest from Bihar has captured the imagination of netizens, with a video recently going viral on X, racking up over 2 million views. The majestic Himalayan peak became visible from Jainagar, a small border town in Madhubani district, after rainfall cleared the air earlier this week.
The video, recorded on October 6, 2025, by a visitor with relatives in Jainagar, captures the snow-capped mountains vividly from an impressive distance. Satyam Raj, sharing insights, said, “The Himalayas are visible from that area whenever the weather is clear. It had rained that day, which improved the visibility even more.”
Posting the clip on X, Raj captioned it: “View of the majestic Himalayas as seen from Jainagar, Madhubani, Bihar.” Social media users were awestruck. One wrote, “Mt Everest is 170 km distance from Jainagar… really fascinating how far it is visible. What you are seeing is the entire width of Nepal.” Another commented, “If such a place existed in any other state, it would have been developed as the ‘Everest View Point’ attracting tourists and resorts.”
Several viewers went further, labeling pictures in the video to indicate the exact location of Mount Everest. This isn’t the first time the Himalayas have been spotted from Bihar. During the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, residents reported crystal-clear mountain views due to significantly lower air pollution. Raj told the Times of India, “Mountains were also clearly visible during the COVID period because of the significantly lower pollution levels.”
The viral footage highlights how rare weather and environmental conditions can offer once-in-a-lifetime views for residents far from the mountains. With a growing online audience, the clip has sparked conversations about potential tourism opportunities and environmental awareness in the region.
