Martin Henderson, who plays Jack Sheridan in Virgin River, has once again taken to Instagram to warn fans about a scam. The New Zealand actor has been plagued by fake accounts in the past and expressed his frustration that scammers are still targeting his fans.

As anticipation builds for the seventh season of Virgin River, he posted a video with a warning message: "Hey guys, hope y'all are doing well. Bummer to have to keep reminding people of this, but......please know that I do not communicate with anyone our user of THIS Instagram account."

He continued: "If you or anyone you know is being contacted by any other account on any platform other than this one @martinhendersonofficial then it is a scam. Please be careful."

In the video, he revealed that he had received numerous messages from fans who had been contacted by individuals pretending to be him, lamenting: "I feel like this is the only thing I post any more."

He clarified: "It's not me. I'm not reaching out to anybody, I'm not asking for any money."

He reassured fans: "I'm totally fine, I'm not in hospital. I don't need help, I don't need money. So yeah, I just wanted to put this out there again."

He concluded: "If you are being contacted, please know it is not true."

His Virgin River co-star, Alexandra Breckenridge, expressed her shock in the comments section. She wrote: "I can't believe this is still happening."

A fan responded: "@alexandrabreck it's still happening. I report several a week. Most get taken down, but they just keep coming."

In February 2025, a woman was conned out of $375,000 (£275,000) in a scam involving the impersonation of actor Martin Henderson.

She even relocated to New Zealand, hoping to start a new life with the man she believed to be Martin.

The victim had been communicating daily with the fraudster for two years, sharing personal aspects of her life.

However, when a friend showed her a news article featuring the real Martin Henderson at a bike rally in New Zealand - at the same time he was supposedly hospitalised in South Africa - she realised she'd fallen prey to a scam.

The woman initially made contact with the scammer on a Virgin River fan page, after receiving a message from someone purporting to be the actor's agent, who claimed that Martin appreciated her comments and wished to speak with her.

Despite the genuine Martin Henderson warning his followers about fakes via his official Instagram account, the scammer convinced the woman that these warnings were intended for others.
