Watch: Woman Hits Bengaluru Auto Driver With Slipper, Issues Apology Later

A dramatic roadside scuffle in Bengaluru has caught the internet’s attention after a woman was arrested for allegedly assaulting an auto-rickshaw driver — using her slipper.
The woman, identified as Pankhuri Mishra, was riding pillion on a two-wheeler with her husband on Saturday when the altercation unfolded. She claimed that auto driver Lokesh had run over her foot — a charge he flatly denied.
Things escalated quickly when Lokesh began filming the dispute. That’s when Pankhuri lost her cool. “Banaega video? Chal bana video (Will you make a video? Go make a video),” she snapped in Hindi, before repeatedly hitting him with her slipper — a moment that was caught on camera and quickly went viral.
As she thrashed him, she made a call, telling the person on the line, “He first ran over my foot and is now recording a video.” Meanwhile, her husband — calmly seated on the scooter — filmed the entire episode.
Lokesh later explained that he started recording because the woman, instead of speaking in Kannada, continued to argue in Hindi. The language clash may have further fueled the tension.
By the end of the clash, the mood shifted. The couple was seen apologising to Lokesh, even bowing at his feet. “I apologise. I am pregnant. So, that is what I was thinking, what would happen if I had a miscarriage,” Pankhuri explained tearfully.
Now out on station bail, Pankhuri — a Bihar native — stressed that she harbors no ill feelings towards Kannada speakers. “We love Bengaluru, we love the culture and we love the people,” she said.
