Who plays Tyson in Percy Jackson season 2?

Percy Jackson season two has made its global debut with fans eager to know all there is about the actor behind newcomer Tyson.

Disney+ fantasy drama Percy Jackson is back on our screens for a second outing after a two-year wait, picking up one year after the explosive events of its first series.

Minutes into the premiere episode, I Play Dodgeball With Cannibals, fans are introduced to Tyson, a lovable cyclops who Percy Jackson's (Walker Scobell) mum welcomed into their home after meeting him at a homeless shelter.

Despite his good intentions though, Tyson is sometimes more of a help than a hindrance to Percy and Annabeth (Leah Jeffries) as they embark on their mission to save Camp Half-Blood.

Percy Jackson season two welcomes actor Daniel Diemer into the role of cyclops Tyson.

Subscribers may recognise the 29-year-old Canadian actor from another Disney+ and Hulu series entitled Under The Bridge as Scott Bentland last year.

Diemer has only been acting on screen since 2016 but he has a number of credits under his belt, including Secret Lies, The Man In The High Castle, Black Summer and The Midnight Club on Netflix.

Most recently, the Percy Jackson star appeared in an episode of Disney+'s The Old Man alongside leading man Jeff Bridges, as a character called Jason McDonald.

Following his stint in the Rick Riordan's drama, Diemer will also be working on action-thriller The Deputy with William H Macy, which is now in post-production.

It is during the first episode of Percy Jackson season two though where it's revealed that there's a lot more to Tyson's story than initially meets the eye.

After Luke (Charlie Bushnell) stabs Thalia's Tree and runs off, the rest of Camp Half-Blood discover that a cyclops is on the premises which is against the rules.

New head of activities Tantulus (Timothy Simons) is gearing up to have Tyson killed when all of a sudden, Poisedon's Trident appears.

This means that not only is Tyson a son of Poisedon, he is also Percy's half-brother, leaving everyone stunned.

But how is Percy going to cope with having his long-lost brother around during his mission to try and save Camp Half Blood?
