Will not contest assembly election: Anant Singh
Patna: Muscleman and JD(U) MLA from Mokama , Anant Singh , on Monday said he will not contest the assembly election in future.
Amid chances of CM Nitish Kumar moving to the Rajya Sabha and vacating the CM’s post, Singh said he would also refrain from contesting the assembly elections. He added that his children would contest instead.
To a reporter’s question on whether he will extend his support to Nitish’s son Nishant Kumar and want to see him as the CM, or whether he will accept a BJP leader as the CM, he replied, “My blessings are always with him (Nishant). The CM post will be decided by Nitish Ji, and I will support whoever he picks.”

Singh, who is currently lodged in the Beur jail, came to cast his vote for the Rajya Sabha election.
