Woman killed, husband attempts suicide after domestic dispute in Puttur

Puttur: A woman was allegedly killed by her husband following a domestic dispute, after which he attempted suicide in a village near Puttur on Friday morning, police said.

The incident took place near Golthila in Ariyadka village of Puttur taluk. According to preliminary information, a heated argument between the couple turned violent, leading to the woman’s death.

After the incident, the husband allegedly attempted to take his own life. He was found in a critical condition and shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.

Police from the Puttur Rural station reached the spot soon after receiving information and began an investigation. The body has been taken into custody for further procedures.

Officials said the exact cause and circumstances behind the incident are yet to be ascertained, and further investigation is under way.
