Match Summary - Yesterday's IPL Match Between MI vs LSG

Lucknow Super Giants piled up a daunting 228/5 after being put in, powered by a blistering middle phase. The early intent came from Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis, but it was Nicholas Pooran who changed the tempo entirely, smashing 63 off just 21 balls to take LSG past 120 inside nine overs. A brief wobble followed as three wickets fell in quick succession, including Marsh and Rishabh Pant, but Aiden Markram held one end together. Himmat Singh then provided the finishing kick with an unbeaten 40, ensuring LSG crossed the 220-mark.

Mumbai Indians responded with a fearless start, racing to 71 without loss in the powerplay. Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma stitched a 143-run opening stand that broke the chase open. Rickelton’s 83 off 32 set the tone before Rohit carried on with an 84 off 44. Despite a few quick wickets in the middle overs, MI maintained the scoring rate, with Naman Dhir and Will Jacks calmly finishing the chase with eight balls to spare.
