Bihar Board 10th Compartment Exam 2026: Application Deadline for Bihar Board Class 10 Compartment Exam Extended Again..

Newspoint

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has once again extended the deadline for applying to the Class 10 Special and Compartment Examinations for the year 2026. Eligible students wishing to appear for these examinations can now submit their applications through the official BSEB website, biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in, until April 10, 2026. Previously, the Bihar Board had set April 7 as the final date for submitting applications for the Compartment Examination. This decision by the Board is set to benefit thousands of students who, for various reasons, were unable to appear for the main examination or who failed in one or two subjects during the main examination.

According to the revised guidelines issued by the BSEB, students belonging to the General Category are required to pay an application fee of ₹950, which may amount to a total of ₹1,010, including additional charges. Conversely, for students belonging to the Reserved Categories (Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes), the fee has been fixed at ₹835, which may rise to ₹895 inclusive of applicable charges.

Furthermore, students opting for practical subjects—such as Home Science, Music, Dance, and Fine Arts—are required to pay an additional fee of ₹30 towards the practical examination charges. Additionally, students applying for an improvement in their marks or those appearing for a single-subject examination (English) must pay an extra fee of ₹200 as a permission fee.

**Applications Must Be Submitted by the School Principal**

The Bihar School Examination Board has clarified that applications for eligible students appearing in the Special and Compartment Examinations must be submitted online by the Headmaster or Principal of the respective educational institution. Applications submitted personally by individual students will not be accepted. Essentially, the Special and Compartment Examinations provide a second opportunity to students who have failed in one or more subjects or who wish to improve their scores in the Class 10 Board Examinations. Students are advised to complete the application process within the stipulated deadline to avoid last-minute issues.
