CUET UG 2026: NTA issues advisory over photo mismatch, opens verification window till April 10

Newspoint
The National Testing Agency (NTA) on April 7, 2026, released an important advisory for candidates appearing in the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026, flagging issues related to mismatched photographs in some applications.

Mismatch found in select applications
During scrutiny of submitted forms, the agency identified discrepancies in a section of candidates who used identity proofs other than Aadhaar. In these cases, the live images uploaded during registration did not align with photographs available in official records maintained by the Unique Identification Authority of India.

Verification process announced
To resolve the issue, affected candidates have been given a chance to verify their identity. They are required to upload a recent photograph along with a signed and attested certificate. This document must be verified by the principal or head of their school or college.

Other attestation options available
If institutional verification is not feasible, candidates can alternatively submit attested documents certified by a Gazetted Officer, an MLA, or an MP.

Deadline and submission details
The correction window is open from April 7 to April 10, 2026, until 10:00 PM. Applicants must upload the required certificate as a single PDF file through the official correction link provided by NTA.

Candidates are advised to complete the process carefully within the deadline to avoid complications on the day of the examination. The agency has also urged students to regularly visit the official website for the latest updates.

For queries, candidates can reach out to the NTA Help Desk at 011-40759000 or via the official support email.
