Delhi Govt Introduces Free JEE, NEET and Competitive Exam Coaching for 2,200 Students

The Delhi government has unveiled a Rs 21-crore initiative aimed at giving students in government schools free access to professional coaching for some of India’s toughest competitive exams. Education Minister Ashish Sood called the move “as a turning point in Delhi’s public education", signalling a major effort to level the playing field for young aspirants across the city.

Coaching for JEE , NEET , CLAT, CA & CUET

The new programme, launched under the Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Vidya Shakti Mission, will support 2,200 shortlisted students. They will receive free coaching for JEE, NEET, CLAT, CA Foundation and CUET through top private institutes including Aakash, Narayana, KD Campus and Ravindra Institute.


Strong Push for Gender Inclusion

To ensure equal opportunity, the government has reserved 50 seats per course for female students in JEE, NEET, CLAT and CA coaching. Additionally, 150 seats have been set aside for girls in the CUET-UG batch, making gender diversity a clear priority.



Building Strength Beyond Academics

Highlighting the vision behind the mission, Sood said the initiative “This mission is not only offering educational resources, but also building the courage, confidence, and emotional strength to dream bigger."

He added that the programme “it includes AI-enabled classrooms, human-centred education and truly equal opportunity for every child".

Education With Dignity & Emotional Care

Emphasising the need for emotional well-being, Sood noted,“No child in Delhi should ever feel unseen, unheard, or unsupported. Education is not just about marks; it is about mental wellness, dignity and humanity."

The minister also urged schools and educators “to strengthen psychological support systems, early-distress protocols, teacher sensitisation and peer-support networks."


A Personal Reflection


Recalling his visit to an MCD school in Lajpat Nagar, Sood shared a touching moment:

“In school bags, distributed there, “were not just for books; they carried dreams".


He added that “The new mission carries not just dreams but a promise that no child will be left behind due to lack of guidance, financial resources or emotional support".


A Movement for Delhi’s Future

Calling the initiative “a movement to empower talent, protect mental wellness and unlock Delhi’s academic potential." Sood said it reflects the government’s commitment to creating “as a part of the government’s commitment to an inclusive and aspirational future for Delhi’s children."
