Conducted annually since 2017 under a government resolution by the state’s Education Department, GUJCET has become a decisive academic milestone for Class 12 (Science) students in Gujarat.

GUJCET serves as the key admission criterion for entry into engineering and pharmacy programmes across Gujarat’s colleges and universities. Every year, thousands of students compete for limited seats, making it one of the state’s most significant academic examinations.

Beyond its function as a qualifying test, GUJCET reflects Gujarat’s emphasis on merit-based selection and academic discipline, aligning with the larger goal of fostering excellence in technical and pharmaceutical education.

Application form and information booklet to be released soon
The Gujarat Board has announced that the online application form and information booklet for GUJCET 2026 will soon be made available on the official website, www.gseb.org.

A separate press release will be issued later, specifying the schedule for form submission and fee payment. Students are advised to stay alert to official updates to ensure timely registration.

Exam centres and schedule

The GUJCET 2026 examination will take place from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at district-level centres across Gujarat. This extended schedule allows sufficient time to accommodate both Physics-Chemistry and Mathematics-Biology papers efficiently.

Examination centres will be distributed across districts to ensure accessibility and smooth conduct, with the Board expected to reinforce monitoring and invigilation to maintain fairness throughout the process.

Exam pattern: Testing depth and discipline

The examination will be conducted in a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format, focusing on conceptual understanding and time management.

  • Physics and Chemistry: Combined paper with 80 questions (40 each), worth 80 marks, to be completed in 120 minutes.
  • Mathematics and Biology: Separate papers, each carrying 40 questions for 40 marks, with a duration of 50 minutes each.
Each subject will have a separate OMR sheet, ensuring clarity in evaluation and transparency in scoring. The structured design tests both precision and comprehension, preparing students for the analytical rigour of professional studies.

Three-language format for wider accessibility
The GUJCET 2026 examination will be available in Gujarati, English, and Hindi, reflecting Gujarat’s multilingual inclusivity. By providing question papers in all three languages, the Board aims to ensure that no student is disadvantaged due to linguistic preference or background.

This initiative aligns with the state’s broader vision of promoting equitable education opportunities across diverse demographics.
