ICAI launches mega CA placement drive 2026: Interviews begin on April 6 as top recruiters line up across India
ICAI CA placement drive 2026 : The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has opened registrations for its 64th campus placement programme . It is one of the country’s largest recruitment exercises for newly qualified Chartered Accountants. The announcement comes with a detailed interview schedule. The placement session, which will take place in several cities throughout the month of April is expected to attract the participation of several industry-leading companies from various sectors.
Interviews to start from April 6
Starting from April 6, the first batch of campus interviews will be held in Mumbai and Delhi and they will continue till April 10. Other major centres will follow in a staggered schedule, ensuring wider participation across regions.
Standardised orientation introduced
In a key change this year, ICAI has rolled out a standardised orientation programme across all centres. The sessions are aimed at giving candidates a clearer understanding of the placement process, employer expectations and the range of career opportunities available.
The initiative will also include interview preparation and practical guidance, helping candidates approach recruiters with greater confidence.
Strong recruiter participation expected
Preliminary indications point towards great eagerness from recruiters from various fields, which is evidence of the ongoing reliance on Chartered Accountants. Apart from the work in the conventional areas like audit and taxation, there will be openings in the newly developed fields, such as consulting and forensic accounting.
Previous cycle sets benchmark
ICAI’s campus placement programme, conducted three times a year, has consistently attracted large-scale participation. In the previous cycle, more than 10,200 job offers were made, with the highest domestic package reaching ₹32.33 lakh per annum.
Career catalyst programme held ahead of placements
Ahead of the placement season, ICAI organised the CA Career Catalyst Programme 2026 in virtual mode from March 15 to March 22. The programme covered key domains including finance, taxation, audit and mergers and acquisitions, while also focusing on soft skills such as group discussions and HR interviews.
As registrations remain open and interviews approach, the upcoming placement cycle is expected to play a decisive role for thousands of newly qualified CAs entering the job market.
