NBEMS: OPJR joining mandatory for DNB 2025 session candidates; NBEMS issues notice..
NBEMS: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has directed candidates seeking admission to NBEMS Diploma and Post-MBBS DNB Broad Specialty courses in the 2025 session to complete their joining formalities and self-appraisal on the Online Portal for Joining and Registration (OPJR).
According to NBEMS, all candidates joining seats allotted through the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) and those admitted under the in-service quota of the State Government, Railways, PSUs, or ESIC must update their joining status on the OPJR portal. This directive also applies to NBEMS-accredited hospitals, which are required to verify candidates' documents and details.
The Board stated that the OPJR portal will be active from March 9th. Trainees must complete their process by April 9th, while hospitals must complete the verification process by April 30th.
Completing the joining formalities is Mandatory
According to the notice, candidates must complete the joining formalities on the portal, fill out the self-appraisal form, and ensure that the respective hospital uploads the joining report (Annexure-A). The hospital will then confirm the allocation details by carefully verifying the candidate's self-appraisal and documents. NBEMS has clarified that the self-appraisal process is mandatory to determine the trainee's eligibility for registration and will be conducted as per the criteria provided in the relevant information booklet.
Accredited hospitals have been assigned the responsibility of verifying original documents. For candidates seeking admission under reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, EWS), hospitals will be required to verify the original and valid caste/category certificate as per MCC guidelines.
Training will commence after formal release.
For in-service candidates, NBEMS has clarified that training for candidates working in state quota or government institutions will be considered to have commenced only after they are formally relieved from their parent institution. Any training completed before this will be considered invalid and void.
After completion of all procedures and verification, candidates will be issued a provisional registration letter. However, NBEMS has also clarified that this registration will be purely provisional and subject to further verification. If any false or misleading information is found during self-appraisal, candidature may be cancelled.
The Board has also stated that NBEMS training must commence within the counseling reporting period, and no extension in the joining date will be accepted without prior permission.
