The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 has brought a wave of pride to Uttar Pradesh as the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has broken into the top five management institutes in India, securing the 5th position with a score of 77.97. Climbing two spots from last year’s 7th rank, the institute has reaffirmed its status as a powerhouse of management education. With this achievement, IIM Lucknow has emerged as not only the state’s highest-ranked management institute but also a strong national contender among India’s most prestigious B-schools.

IIM Lucknow leads the stateWith a national rank of 5 and a score of 77.97, IIM Lucknow continues to be the pride of Uttar Pradesh. The institute has climbed two places from its 7th rank in 2024, thanks to its strong faculty resources, world-class research, and stellar placement record. In 2025, IIM Lucknow’s placement season saw an average package of ₹32.3 lakh per annum, with the highest domestic offer at ₹75 lakh and an international offer of ₹65 lakh, boosting its Graduation Outcomes and Perception scores.
IIT Kanpur and IMT Ghaziabad among top 30The Department of Industrial & Management Engineering (IME) at IIT Kanpur continues to stand out, securing the 27th position nationally with a score of 60.15. Close behind is IMT Ghaziabad, one of India’s leading private B-schools, which ranked 30th with a score of 59.85, reaffirming its status as a preferred choice for management aspirants.
Private and emerging institutions shineApart from government institutions, private universities and colleges from UP have made significant strides. Jaipuria Institute of Management (Noida – Rank 41, Lucknow – Rank 67) and Amity University (Rank 49) have consolidated their presence in the top 50. BIMTECH, Greater Noida (Rank 61) also stands out for its industry-oriented programs.
