RBI Recruitment 2026: Applications open for 650 assistant posts, check eligibility and how to apply
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced recruitment for 650 Assistant posts across its offices nationwide. The application process is currently underway, and eligible candidates can apply online through the official RBI website.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the prescribed nationality conditions. Candidates should be Indian citizens, subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, or persons of Indian origin who have permanently settled in India after migrating from specified countries.

Age and Educational Qualifications
Candidates must be between 20 and 28 years of age. Those born between February 2, 1998, and February 1, 2006, are eligible to apply. Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates, a pass class in graduation is sufficient.
Candidates must also have knowledge of word processing on a computer and be proficient in the local language of the state or region they are applying for. Ex-servicemen are required to possess a graduation degree after completing a minimum of 15 years of defence service.
Selection Process
The recruitment process will be conducted in three stages: a Preliminary Examination, a Main Examination, and a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The LPT will assess a candidate’s ability to read, write, and speak the official or local language of the concerned state. Candidates who fail to demonstrate proficiency may be disqualified.

Interested candidates can apply online only through the official RBI website, www.rbi.org.in. The registration window opened on February 16, 2026. Applicants need to register as new users under the link titled “Recruitment for the Post of Assistant – Panel Year 2025.”
Candidates must fill in the application form carefully, upload the required documents including photograph and signature, and pay the prescribed application fee. After submission, applicants are advised to keep a printout of the application form for future reference.
RBI has advised candidates to regularly check the official website for updates regarding admit cards, examination dates, and further stages of the recruitment process.
