UP TET 2026 Online Form Application: The online application process for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET) has officially commenced. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has activated the online form-filling link on its official website, upessc.up.gov.in. Candidates wishing to appear for the UP TET examination are eligible to apply. However, applicants are strongly advised to avoid making any errors during the application process to the greatest extent possible.
Even a minor oversight while filling out the form could prove to be detrimental to your application. Therefore, we present to you a simple and accurate guide on how to apply for the UP TET.
Who is eligible to apply for the UP TET?
The UP TET is conducted at two distinct levels. Separate eligibility criteria have been established for candidates aspiring to teach classes 1–5 (Primary Level) and classes 6–8 (Junior Level).
UP TET Primary Level (Classes 1–5): Candidates must hold a Graduation degree from a university/college established by law and recognized by the UGC, and must have passed a two-year D.El.Ed (BTC) program from an institution recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)—or be currently in the final year of such a program. Alternatively, candidates may have completed a two-year D.Ed/D.El.Ed (Special Education) program after graduation, or possess an Intermediate (10+2) qualification (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks, along with a four-year B.El.Ed (Bachelor of Elementary Education) degree. Candidates currently in the final year of their respective programs are also eligible to apply.
UP TET Junior Level (Classes 6–8):
UP TET 2026 Form Filling: How to Fill Out the UP TET Form
To apply for the UP TET, candidates must first visit the UPESSC portal.
By visiting upessc.up.gov.in and navigating to the 'New Candidate' section, you must first generate an OTR ID.
To register, ensure you have your Aadhaar Card, Class 10th marksheet, and a recent photograph ready.
Now, enter your name, parents' names, date of birth, gender, Aadhaar Card details, and email ID, and then verify the information.
Next, capture a live photograph of yourself. Your picture must be absolutely clear, as this is the exact photo that will appear on your Admit Card.
Now, fill in your personal details, including your nationality, marital status, and category. If you belong to the OBC, SC, or ST categories, you will also need to provide details regarding your respective certificates. Click 'Save & Next' to proceed.
Enter all relevant information regarding your address, Class 10th marks, Roll Number, Year of Passing, and Subjects. Similarly, fill in the details for your Class 12th and Graduation examinations.
Upload all required documents, including your Photo ID, Class 10th marksheet, Class 12th marksheet, Graduation marksheet, Handwritten Declaration, Training Certificate, and Category Certificate.
At this stage, your OTR profile will be completed. Subsequently, the 'Examinations' option will appear before you; locate 'UPTET 2026' and click on the 'Apply Now' option next to it.
Now, select your preference: Paper-1, Paper-2, or Both. Select your specific Subject Group. If you are currently serving as a Government Teacher, select 'Yes'; otherwise, select 'No'.
