The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has shortlisted 366,712 candidates for the main examination for 7,994 Lekhpal posts, marking one of the state’s most competitive recruitment cycles in recent years. Candidates were selected based on their scores in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET), with roughly 46 candidates competing for each post.

The Lekhpal position remains highly sought after due to job security, attractive pay, and long-term career growth within the Uttar Pradesh government. Classified under Pay Level 3, the posts offer a starting basic salary of ₹21,700, with total monthly emoluments ranging from ₹28,000 to ₹32,000.

How to check UPSSSC Lekhpal Result 2026
Candidates can view their results on the official UPSSSC portal (upsssc.gov.in) by following these steps:

  • Visit the homepage and navigate to the “Results” or “Notice Board” section.

  • Click on the link for “UPSSSC Lekhpal Main Examination Result 2026.”

  • Enter required credentials, such as Registration Number/Roll Number and Date of Birth, and complete the CAPTCHA.

  • Submit to view the result, then download and print for reference.

    Category-wise cutoff marks
    The commission has released PET cutoff scores for the shortlist: 55.12 points for Unreserved (UR), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates. Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates require 47.50 points. Cutoffs were determined by the number of test-takers, available vacancies, and exam difficulty.

    Vacancy distribution
    The 7,994 posts are distributed according to state reservation norms: 3,205 for Unreserved, 2,158 for OBC, 1,679 for SC, 792 for EWS, and 160 for ST candidates. The distribution reflects the state government’s focus on inclusive recruitment while maintaining merit-based selection.

    Main examination pattern
    Shortlisted candidates must prepare for the main written exam, with dates to be announced shortly. The exam will have 100 multiple-choice questions worth 100 marks, to be completed in two hours. The Mathematics section has been replaced by a 10-mark Data Interpretation segment, marking a significant change from previous years.
