Speaking about the experience, Ali shared that working on Lahore 1947 required intense preparation and emotional focus, given its historical setting and layered narrative. He described the project as creatively fulfilling, noting that the film demanded a vastly different physical and mental space compared to his work on Mirzapur. Balancing the two productions meant constantly switching between contrasting characters, tones and environments, often within tight and demanding schedules.

Lahore 1947 is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and stars Sunny Deol in the lead role. Set against the backdrop of the Partition of India, the film explores the human cost of displacement, identity crises and fractured relationships during one of the most defining moments in the subcontinent’s history. Ali Fazal plays a significant role in the narrative, though specific details about his character remain under wraps.

Ali revealed that coordinating schedules between the two projects was particularly challenging, but made possible through careful planning and strong support from both production teams. He said the experience pushed his physical and mental endurance, while also reinforcing his love for acting - especially when given the opportunity to be part of stories with contrasting emotional registers.

While Lahore 1947 places him in a deeply rooted historical setting, Mirzapur continues to demand a high-energy, gritty performance shaped by intense crime drama storytelling. Ali acknowledged that moving between these two worlds was exhausting yet immensely rewarding, as it allowed him to evolve and grow as a performer.

With the shoot now complete, Ali expressed gratitude for being part of a film with strong historical and emotional significance. He also thanked the team for maintaining a disciplined and well-coordinated schedule, which enabled him to fulfil his parallel commitments without compromising on performance quality.

Lahore 1947 is expected to release in 2025, while Mirzapur remains one of the most awaited digital shows among audiences. Ali Fazal’s ability to balance both projects has been widely appreciated, underscoring his versatility, discipline and dedication as he continues to expand his body of work across films and digital platforms.
